Cincinnati Underground

We took a Cincinnati historical tour this week. It was super interesting. They have many tours but we joined the “underground” tour. We were joined by the Luke’s sisters, Tim, and Paula and Bill.

The tour focused on Cincinnati history from the 1800’s to the early 1900’s. The tour focused mostly on prohibition and some key buildings. We visited a very clean crypt under St. Francis Church and beer fermentation chambers under an old building. The chambers were the highlight. They were forgotten until a recent renovation rediscovered them.

After the tour, we rode the Cincinnati Connector and had dinner at Moerlein house. It was a beautiful day with great friends.

Seattle

I’ve been doing ton’s of travel in 2016 and my most recent trip to Seattle, Lynn came with me. Every time I go to Seattle, the weather is great. Because Lynn went with me, of course, the weather was awful.

We stayed at the Westin Bellevue and had a great time. Some of the key sites we saw are:

Bainbridge Island – We took the ferry across the Pegot Sound for walking and driving around the island. It was a nice day.
Mount Rainier – The day started out nice and lasted until we got back to Bellevue. We took some beautiful hikes through the woods. Great Day!

We did a couple other short trips around town too. We visited downtown Seattle and the space needle. We also went out to Microsoft’s campus in Redmond. There is a Starbucks on every corner. And lots of places to eat.

London Day Two

Today was a very nice day in London. The highlight was our private “Black Cab” tour of “London’s Hidden Treasures”. Our driver was Richard and he as a spectacular guide. He took us to see some very cool things such as:

Buildings from the 1600’s
St Paul’s Cathedral
Methodist Central Hall
The changing of the guard (see video)
St James Street where we saw wonderful shops like – Custom shoe store, hatter, boutique whiskey

Bob had to leave the tour early to go to work. The rest went to the covered gardens near our hotel for a lovely lunch. They also had a good opportunity to take a nap. Later, we all met at the Westminster Abbey for a Christmas concert. The acoustics were amazing.

Quick note from Gladys: Thank you all so much for your comments. You are wonderful. We look forward to reading them together each day. Wouldn’t trade where I live for anything.
