Bob created Sogeti’s 5-Mobile initiative to offer mobile solutions to customers initially focused on Blackberry devices but now expanded to Android and iPhone devices. The team created initial plans for the US offerings and works closely with Sogeti’s international offerings. Today, our mobility team is a top-line initiatives and has over 100 members across the US.
KEY SOGETI CLIENTS:
For Ethicon Endo-Surgery, a Johnson & Johnson company, Bob led a 15 person team to implement a $1MM Loftware Labeling solution to manage the final packaging at three plants. This system is used by over 1,000 users and was built on a Java, BEA Weblogic platform accessing an Oracle database.
National City Mortgage developed a new Loan Origination System. This is $160MM project consisting of over 150 resources. Bob lead a 30 person team to develop of the Product Eligibility and Loan Pricing rules engine. The larger project team was responsible for full life-cycle development in a wide variety of technologies such as AS/400, .Net 2.0, Fair Isaac’s Blaze, Oracle 10, and Rakis VMP, IBM’s Rational Suite.
Unifund is a debt processing company whose sales department needed an improved opportunity and workflow management system. In eight weeks, Bob customized, configured and implemented Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 for 40 users. The system was very successful the client deployed CRM to additional departments.
VICE PRESIDENT – TECHNOLOGY – Domin-8 Enterprise Solutions, 11/02 – 11/04
I was recruited by Domin-8’s President, then a Vero customer, to be a member of operations management and to build the technology team. My achievements included:
▪ Defined and implemented a formal software development lifecycle process for the organization to meet our quarterly product release schedule. Ported the existing ColdFusion application to C# and .Net to improve performance and ease maintenance.
▪ Interviewed, hired and mentored the software development team. They enhance the product from initial business requirements through completed quality assurance testing.
▪ Managed a multi-million dollar technology budget. I had responsibility for vendor relations for equipment acquisition, performance testing, usability studies, and 3rd party application development.
▪ Established, operated and secured a hosted ASP network (Windows, SQL, etc.) to manage production data for customers with $100+ million in annual sales.
▪ Integrated the Quality Assurance processing into the product development processes using automated tools from Empirix.
▪ Managed implementation of all internal software applications for business operations including Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange Email, Microsoft CRM, 3Com Voice over IP telephone system and Great Plains ERP.
PRESIDENT – VERO SOFTWARE, Cincinnati, OH 11/97–11/02
After 10 years consulting for large companies, founded Vero Software to provide a broad range of technology services to small businesses. Our goal was to have an impact on their growth and profitability through creative use of information technology. Vero grew to $3 million in annual revenue servicing more than 110 clients. Sold Vero to Barnes, Dennig & Company accounting firm.
My responsibilities for the business included:
▪ Managing Profit and Loss, Operations, and Human Resources.
▪ Defining service offerings (ERP Software, Networking, Custom Programming, and Strategy Consulting), process definition and management of customer expectations.
▪ Delivering hundreds of client solutions using all combinations of technology.
▪ Fostering customer relations and driving sales for the organization.
▪ Presentations to customer round-tables and facilitated technology forums.
KEY VERO CLIENTS:
As temporary Director of Technology for John Tisdel Distributing, a $30 million wholesale distributor of high-end kitchen appliances, I changed the technology infrastructure and ERP Software to allow 100% growth over two years without hiring additional operations support staff.
As Extemporized Chief Information Officer for FRCH Design, an International Architectural Design firm, managed a $400,000 budget, mentored their junior leader to improve relations between IT and the user community and reorganized the team which reduced response time to the user community.
As Chief Software Architect for ClickRadio.com, an Internet radio start-up, led the development of proprietary music caching technology using object-oriented development methodologies. We improved the development process timing and quality by instituting strict project management, programming standards, design reviews, and educating team members on formal development lifecycles.
PRINCIPLE CONSULTANT – CAP GEMINI AMERICA, Cincinnati, OH 10/95–11/97
Director of the Cincinnati branch Advanced Technology Group (ATG). The team’s charter was to focus on in-house, project-oriented software development using advanced technologies. My responsibilities included:
▪ Educating sales staff on group capabilities and key customer need indicators.
▪ Crafting technology solutions to meet business needs and maximize return.
▪ Develop technical team members in both technologies and methodologies.
KEY CAP GEMINI CLIENTS:
In addition to ATG, held a senior consulting position at P&G doing business analysis of a planned Intranet for R&D team collaboration with the goal of reducing duplicate research globally. I coordinated five P&G teams through JAD session workshops using brown paper techniques, flowcharts and spreadsheets to capture and document business processes. The project resulted in approval of a multi-year, multi-million dollar development effort.
At Reynolds & Reynolds, managed early development phases of the communications sub-system for their second generation marquee product line. My team focused on analysis and design for a rules-based system. The project budget was greater than $100 million.
I was named Consultant of the Year in 1992. Led a development team at IBM. We were responsible for Mainframe C development using OS/2 workstations. The final application provided access to mainframe systems using a Motorola wireless handheld.
Lead programmer on numerous other project teams.
