It was a direct hit! In just over 24 hours, Cincinnati received more than 12 inches of snow. It started at noon on Friday and by dinner time, we had 3 inches on the ground. We had dinner reservations to the Iron Chef to celebrate birthdays (Barb Curry 3/1, Lynn 3/6, Bob 3/9 and Matthew Green 3/17). Luckily the snow let up just in time to leave for the restaurant. Ironically, it started snowing agin just as we left at 8:00.
The drive home was eerily quiet. Almost no cars were on the road. We drove down Montgomery road from Fields Ertel road to downtown Montgoery is less time than on a dry day. It was a most unusual trip.
Over night, we received another six inches of snow. It continued snowing all through the day until about 4:00 accumulated to a to total of just over a foot.
This is the first time that I’ve ever known Hamilton County to declare a snow emergency level 3. Meaning that you could get arrested for driving.
