What a great day. The weather was clear and 30. We got out to the slopes early and rode all day.
Allison’s boyfriend (now mine and Nathan’s too) gave us the grand tour of Keystone. His buddy got us discounted passes too. Thanks Kerry!!
We took a snow cat up to the top Keystone. That was very interesting. The view from the top was spectacular. The ride down was challenging because the snow was powder with a crunchy top layer. It made carving with a snowboard complicated for me.
Mary’s Mountain House is great. It’s very close to the slopes and very, very comfortable. I could get used to this way of life.
I was really worried about altitude sickness but it didn’t really bother me at all. I guess the conditioning and preparation worked as planned. I still got winded at times but no headaches.
