Paris Day 2

We are exhausted…

We toured the Louvre today. What an amazing place. It is one of the largest museums in the world. We only walked through less than half but it’s so overwhelming we had to leave. The art work is astounding. We saw the real Mona Lisa and Venus di Milo and many more amazing ancient exhibits.

Our goal was to do a Historic Walk but we ran out of gas. Instead, we enjoyed a boat tour down the river Seine. Not the most intellectual event but it was a nice trip and rather relaxing. Plus we didn’t need to walk anymore. We’ve been taking the Metro sub-way everywhere. Although cheap, you still walk a long way to get where you’re going. Most people here have bicycles, scooters or very small cars.

After the boat tour we stopped for Crepes. Wow are they delicious.

There are two types of toilets here. Those you pay one Euro for which are spotless and beautiful and those you don’t which look like space transporters.

Lynn thinks Paris is nicer than New York. The people are quieter. The streets have less people. Overall it feels less hectic. I think she feels safer too but I’m not sure. It’s curious that so many people enjoy public displays of affection. They kiss for a LONG time.

I thought the language was going to be more difficult but we muddle through (thanks mostly to Nathan). Typical Americans, I guess.

Time for bed.
